News Errata

Disclosure: While our reporter was writing the April 18 article about the Olympia Film Society, she was also applying for the Executive Director position with OFS. We greatly regret that this information was not disclosed to both interviewees and readers in advance.

Correction: In addition, there were several inaccuracies in the April 18 OFS article. The article said that, at the OFS membership meeting, only one proposal from the membership petition was voted on; all three proposals were voted on, but only one passed, relating to the Staff Collective. One of the other proposals was to change the OFS board’s decision to hold the annual meeting in September and return it to May; the article reversed this. (Separately, the board decided to have meetings in both May and September.) The article referred to the Staff Collective being part of the OFS by-laws; it was not then (but will be now, as a result of the membership vote). OFS’ 2011 financial loss was $46,000, not $49,000. In addition, see the article at left for more details about the OFS employee pay and staffing plan.

Correction: In the April 18 editorial about City of Olympia development permits, we wrote that two different judges in two different cases had struck down city permits. In fact, the same judge struct down both permits in two different cases.
