Introducing you to new locally-owned businesses in your neighborhood…
The Back Room Bar at Trinacria
It is now possible to eat dinner at Trinacria without a reservation! You can do so in their new back bar area on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. You’ll find the entrance in the back alley, unless it’s blazing hot and they’ve got the back door blocked off — in which case you enter through the front and scooch back past the kitchen. Otherwise, Eugenio highly prefers that you use the back door. Nothing personal.
Don’t let the blandness of the back exterior fool you. Once you enter The Back Room, you’re not in Olympia anymore. Eugenio has created an intensely European atmosphere. The walls are nearly covered to the 20 foot ceiling with art: student renditions of old world masters, Dr. Seuss characters, film festival posters, and of course… the Pope.
In The Back Room you can enjoy a full bar menu, as well as the full Sicilian food menu until 8 PM. After 8, menu offerings are simpler… cheese-basil-garlic pizza and pomodoro/ragu noodles. There’s always a drink special and a darling bartender to offer suggestions. Eat, drink, and pretend you’re in Sicily.
